You are so right! I have friends of my kids here all the time and they all seem so glad to find a place where the rules are strict and clear. I am always in for fun, but my rules apply... at all times. Seems like they are much more comfortable with that than at home, where they have a say in everything.

I sometimes think that kids just get too much responsibility if they are in charge. They shouldn't have, they should be kids and feel safe and relaxed knowing that grownups are taking care of things. That should teach them it can be done... so they will take responsibility when it is their turn to be grownup.

We are trying this year to heat almost entirely with wood, since the propane prices are so terrifying. But yes, lots of layers. Sometimes I think we should hold a Vermot fashion show consisting of nightgowns topped with sweatshirts, long underwear, accesorized with ski socks, mittens and boots.

Paddy - you can get very basic xstitch kits which have plastic to sew on instead of aida or evenweave. Apparently that makes it easier to get stuff right all the time! There are loads of designs with that plastic stuff - including Disney, christmas cards etc

Cybernan - you gave such great clues but I had my words in the wrong order! I am missing the three Sh's 5/12/, 5/12 and 6/21 following what a man wears with a tie. I had so much trouble putting the T's and S's in order. If you can help with these three I would appreciate it.
