Hi all -- got home from bridge to find swarms of tiny ants in the kitchen sink and on the counter! So I had to squish them and set out ant traps -- I hope they work. Sometimes I think they're ant repellents -- i.e. the darn creatures avoid them like the plague and still invade the house.

a house fire, Luwanda. Didn't burn everything, but the soot ruined most of the things, and mold that came in afterward took a lot more. We are still salvaging a little bit, but what can be saved is less and less each time. Lucky and the birds died, but Grant, who was getting home sick from school, and a neighbor were able to put out the fire. 911 got confused so the fire trucks arrived afterward

I can tell you it's definintely a difficult time but there is a positive side. I became a stronger person and realize I can persevere a lot, my family became closer and I realized that stuff is stuff and family and friends are everything.
