we have traversed our state and crossed over into NSW. on our way to see my friend in Queensland. her health isn't the best, and it is her birthday on Thursday. 6 hours in the car. the same for the next 2 days. i ache in every pore of my body, and then some.

Don has been ever so attentive and careful, but the roads are atrocious. they have had bad floods recently, and only patched the road. i felt every pot hole, and every hump in the road.

we are okay. We have had a meeting with Caya and Juno and have decided Rob and I are actively gonna look for a home in the area of Arnhem, starting now. Juno is doing pretty good, most days they can walk Lewi with the electrical wheelchair. Caya is taking Lewi to school on Monday, building up to a full day. That means we are no longer needed on a continuous basis.

the problem with car rides is, that the motion of the car relaxes the muscles. Then with every bump or turn, all of a sudden you need those muscles and they cannot come to the rescue in time.

Kam, we go way back to our training days. over 50 years of friendship. she is the friend i flew up to be with when she had to have her breast removed b/c of the big C. her wound became infected, and i went up there to nurse her at home. managed to get rid of infection, and get wound to the point of almost completely healed before i came home. lol... the docs were astounded. they really thought they would have to skin graft. i said not on your nelly.

yujp. but now i have worked out a way for me to get around the airports without a wheelchair. if the airline will stow my walker in one of the overhead lockers for me. it folds up to not much bigger than a carry-on bag.

I still miss road trips with Michael. I don't like to drive. The Subaru Outback he got me for my birthday years ago is still going strong and is a comfortable ride. I got broadsided and it saved my life. The insurance company should have totaled it because with the rental car and repair time, they paid way more than it was worth.

kam, it's marvelous that you can still drive. i cannot as the pinched nerve in my right knee does not allow me to do an emergency brake, and sustain it. so i handed in my licence. plus the fact i am taking drugs which slow my reflexex. not a good combo.

here in the netherlands we don't have those kind of distances. Here, if you really want to go crazy, you could go from Groningen to Maastricht, which is 336 km and will take about 4 hours.

I only drive to "town" which is 7.5 miles away. I hate having to go to another town, the next one is 18 miles, and then about 35 to the other two towns that have larger stores. I order online a lot!
