the announcement i read said that starting tomorrow you could no longer DOWNLOAD kindle books but had to read them in the cloud. which sounded to me like you'd have to be constantly connected to WiFi in order to read anything, which is bad if you go somewhere without WiFi, and also bad if you don't want your battery to run down. but apparently that isn't what it meant. all you cannot do will be to transfer content using a USB cord, which i didn't do anyway.
