This is a very sad day for me and a warning to the world:
1. The United States, who I've always thought of as friend and ally has declared war on Canada. Not an old fashioned war with guns and tanks, but a modern warfare with economic hardship and ruin for some, tampering in cyberspace and threats of annexation. All on trumped up excuses (pun intended).
2. The British prime minister has declined to support us, a member of the British Comonwealth, and our king has invited our self-declared enemy to a state dinner at Buckingham Palace. No other Commonwealth country has denounced Trump for is intentions toward us either. Who can we trust now but ourselves?

I hope not only the people of the United States, but also of the world, will wake up and remember the lesson we were taught in 1938.
It took Hitler less than two months (53 days) after his election as chancellor of Germany to dismantle the democratic state and turn himself into dictator.
Trump and his henchman, Musk, are using Hitler's playbook...closing government agencies, eliminating the watchdogs of government, getting rid of all military leaders who are not MAGA (the American nazism), disabling the courts (with the help of the supreme court it would seem) and exercising pressure on and in some cases, control of, the media. He is clearing out Guantanamo? Is that going to be his first concentration camp?
God help the world if the citizens of America don't stop him. He is already trying to rape Ukraine of it's mineral resources and it looks like he has his eye on Canada next. If anyone is likely to start WWIII, it is Trump.
I have joined my fellow Canadians in doing the only thing I can (other than making my sentiments known to my MLA and MP). I will no longer travel to the states. I will no longer order or buy from American owned outlets. I will no longer buy any products that are not â€œproduced in Canadaâ€ and if that is not possible, purchase those that are â€œmade in Canadaâ€ with materials sourced anywhere but the USA.

To my American friends here: Goodbye and Good Luck. Please stand up and be heard before you lose your democracy entirely

sorry, not meaning to downplay anyone's POV... just don't see why this has to happen pretty much every day... we've created a safe space for one type of voice only, and I hate to think of how toxic that must be for others... I think in part is that these times aren't like other times, or other administrations. I mean, yes, I'm left - yes, I loathed Reagan and Bush and Nixon (though, in truth, I was a child when Nixon was president). But I do believe that, by and large, most of those men were doing what they genuinely thought was right. They didn't get it right (in my opinion) but they thought they would. I believe, however, that Trump is after what is right for HIM - not for people like me, or even people like you, KnightTime. He makes you believe he's on your side - on the side of the egg buying public, but he's a dangerous narcissist, resting in bed with known dictators such as Putin, Kim and the rest. He is trying to dismantle democracy in the US (and the world), showing absolutely no mercy or thought the the people he purportedly represents, and certainly no care for the people who would rather he didn't represent
