12:32 am

pretty okay. Also manageable with the stresslevels. Next weekend both kids and their partners are coming over for a family day, really looking forward to that.
12:34 am
rebelsass

hi sweetie, pretty good. And you?
2:36 am
grannyrose
just up from a 3 hour nap...lol. early start this morning as usual. 6am
2:36 am
sprite
well done on the nana nap
2:37 am
grannyrose
i have learnt no nana nap on days like today equals really bad nights.
2:38 am
sprite
yep. Same here. Slowly, we learn, lol
2:38 am
grannyrose
how's all the family? Juno especially at this time?
2:39 am
sprite
Juno is going strong. They are amazing. They went to see their grandparents, by themselves, by train! Caya is away on holiday, climbing with friends, and Juno just went and did it.
2:40 am
grannyrose
wow! so proud of them. that's so amazing. that electric chair has revolutionised their mobility.
2:43 am
sprite
it absolutely has. which was as expected. The real amazing thing for me is their willingness to accept that wheelchair. It takes a lot of relabeling in your head, when you are early twenties and hit with FM and CFS and having to learn to accept you are an invalid.
2:43 am
grannyrose
any news from their doctor? that you are willing to share here?
2:44 am
grannyrose
hey, it's hard enough to accept that label when one hits the 60's and 70's.
2:45 am
sprite
they have decided to do a second round of egg harvesting. Just to be on the safe side. And then onto the testosteron treatment, hoping the clinic will agree. They are afraid to start this with Juno because of all the comorbidity. Even though the psychiatrist and therapists all say it will be good for them.
2:45 am
sprite
ikr? I still am kind of in denial. Not fully, but secretly, still getting hit in the face with the reality of it quite regularly.
2:49 am
grannyrose
hmmmm, another round of those hormonal Rx. with all the havoc the hormones wreak on the emotions i would be hesitant too. have they sat down and actually written the positives and negatives side by side. which outweighs the other? on paper, seems to help when seen visually.
2:49 am
sprite
fireflies.
2:49 am
grannyrose
WTG SPRITE!!
2:50 am
sprite
they are not worried about the egg round. But about the testosterone. And yes, they go about it very diligently and with wisdom far above their age.
2:51 am
grannyrose
well done Juno!. but the effects are quickly reversed are they not?
2:52 am
sprite
if they go through the egg thing with the same focus and courage as the first time, it will be behind them in a few weeks' time. They are more worried about the possible refusal for the testosterone at the clinic. If they have to go to the hospital that does this too, there is a waiting list of 3+ years.
2:54 am
grannyrose
so the concern is more as to whether the Rx will be given, rather than the effects? the effects obviously being more positive in their mind?
2:56 am
sprite
yes, exactly. The effects will be very positive, we have no doubt about that. Both physically and mentally.
2:58 am
sprite
and energy-wise as well. But the clinic is wary of doing hormone treatments with patients that have comorbidity. We can only pray that they realise there is little risk, especially with all the support that Juno has. Okay, *hugs* and sleep well tonight.
2:58 am
grannyrose
i will pray for their strength to wait the time if needed, but also that the Rx will be seen by the powers that be that it is very necessary and urgent
2:59 am
sprite
thanks honey, much appreciated

What a way to start the day. Our President, The King of Bad Taste, posted an artificial intelligence-generated image of himself dressed as pope as the mourning of Pope Francis continues. Catholics everywhere are offended.
5:25 am
mael
sane people everywhere are offended, not just catholics

How can people who voted for him not be ashamed of themselves?
5:29 am
MollyL
I swear, the Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves. I hope they all come back to haunt him.
5:30 am
mael
it's like people wanted a mean and stupid internet troll for a president, I will never understand it till the day i die.
5:31 am
MollyL
Not to mention a criminal
5:32 am
mael
that too, I shouldn't minimize it. But the glee his supporters feel when he posts something offensive and dumb on the internet boggles my mind

It scares me that we live in a world with that many people who have such bad taste

Be assured that many of us elsewhere feel your pain. Every time he lurches from one crass, idiotic and inexcusable event to the next, we feel embarrassed for you and just hope you and your beautiful country can come through the next 4 years without too much damage.
5:45 am
mael
please just remember that about half of us did not vote for this evil idiocy
5:45 am
mael
and thank you, that's our hope too

As you and Molly and so many others have said, we just wonder how it happened - twice! I recall the best ever headline on the front page of a paper the first time - "WTF!" Words failed us all the second time. Hang in there - this, too, will pass.

I had my hip replaced a few years ago. I was walking an hour after surgery and went home the same day. Modern medicine is amazing.
