I made a neighbor cry yesterday. She's been looking for someone to occasionally clean the eyes of her Persian cat when she is away for a few days... no joy. I offered to do it, went to meet the cat yesterday, went smoothly. Was cleaning his eyes within half an hour. No problem.

oh and she wants to pay me for it. I don't want that. She lives in this building, for crying out loud. I get in the elevator, walk the corridor and there I am. It's not even a chore, it's... pretty much nothing.

that's exactly it, rose. It's like giving pills to pets. Just do it. No hysterics, no tantrums, simply hold the pet, open that mouth and put in the pill. If you are not unsure, the pet will not put up much of a fight.
