silly question .. when did the flip time change ??

Ursh - some places stupidly go on Daylight Savings Time (the USA is one of them), and some do not. Sunday Morning we lost an hour - AGAIN. I wish they'd just drop all this malarchy.

i always get a surprise when the flip changes for me from 8am to 7am

Must come from where the puzzle originates

They originally did it so that school kids didn't have to walk to school in the dark (when it was safe for a kid to walk that far by his/herself. Nowadays with most parents coddling their kids with dropping them and picking them up (Don't get me wrong - I know it's not safe for kids out there these days) they should just do away with it.
