Lately I notice that the generation of "the clue list" is leaving out certain words. Why is "tantos" not among the words we need to find?

well, this game uses an old version of the Enable Word List, which is like 25 years old. Lickety's list I think uses a slightly newer version and will occasionally have an extra word that got added to a subsequent version of Enable. It's really Enable to blame, but there are too many omissions to count.

The plural of tanto (sword) in Japanese would be tanto too. For the musical tanto of Italian origin, it's an adverb. So there might be a good reason the plural wasn't included in the dictionary originally.
