i know it wouldn't be normal to the average american but most babblers are above average so it's hard to know sometimes whether a word will seem normal to most people here or not

I kind of feel like hoping on a plane and waking up in London. It's aa city I knew well 50 years ago, saw again 20 years ago, and still knew my way around. %) years ago, 2 friends and I hitched through South Wales. I called my mother from a red phone booth as you will see in London, still set up for American soldiers to call home for free in WWII. I asked my mother if I could go to Paris, and she said "can't you be happy you're in London? You have your whole life ahead of you.." And I listened to her. So I didn't get to Paris for 30 more years. Dumb.

I recently saw my grandkids who are almost 5 and 1 and a half. They were dancing 9-5 and Time Warp. I told my daughter I saw Rocky Horror on stage. In London. In 1975. Her jaw dropped. Yes, dear, I had a life before you.

Kaplan the Magne

gotta get on Zoom for a client. Maybe bbl, maybe not.
12:52 pm
Nef

Ah, but you got there later. That’s what counts. I’venever traveled to Europe, life didn’t work out that way, but I “travel” through books & such.
12:57 pm
Kaplan the Magne

I now prefer to travel through books. My husband and kids travel more easily, and I realize that I've been to a lot of places. Venice, Rome, Amsterdam and the Netherlands as a whole, Cape Town, Kenya, the Caymans, Segovia and Barcelona. And lastly, Havana. I can't believe it..Oh, and extensive time in Israel, another topic entirely. My husband's family were travelers. My dad's only experience was being in the Persian Gulf Command in WWII, and then he travelled a bit with my mom before she died, and after she died. My mother's first plane trip was in her 50s. She passed away at 60. GTG.
