Can anyone offer a solution other than the ones listed on the page?

Well, I found the self-serve clues. That will have to do for now.
1:00 am
MetFan
There's 2 problems with the AI generated clues - no bulk/grab box, and no box to add newly found words. This needs some work.

have found the clues list on lickety's AI page. but there are two ar5/10 at the beginning of the ar list, and I am only missing one word.

If he's not going to try for an hour, there goes my whole evening.

Also, the last clue on the AI page for the CA's is the ca7/36, and that comes WAY before the actual last alphabbetical word.

Clues are fixed now. What's the issue with the Self Serve page?
2:09 am
licketySplitAUS
I'm fixing the order to match now - Alphabetically rather than by word size

Thanks lickety.

The self-serve page reloads itself in Firefox, and looks just like the lists Lickety puts up all the time. I've only used it twice, but when I was scrolling around looking for a place to paste my words, it reloaded.
2:27 am
licketySplitAUS
Ordering of the Self serve page now matches my normal clues page if you refresh. Note - If you are the first to visit for the day, just click "Grab Grid"
2:37 am
Jacula
I've no idea what the self serve page is and rely on Lickety and another very old site, plus A-z word clues to give me clues to finish the grid. Thank you Lickety! I did ge a bit worried the other day when Babble went down and I wondered if that was it after all these years. My son is a vey high-up tech person these days who could probably recreate Babble with a more up to date dictionary and I did wonder if I should ask him to do it for us all. Fortunately, that wasn't needed in the end. Thank you, Jamie aka Dr God for still being there for us.
2:38 am
licketySplitAUS
I just added Bulk Add and Grab to my Self Serve page. I can see you can do Bulk Add ok, not sure about bulk grab. I might not need to load in a new window for it to work in expert. If someone could help test for me.
2:38 am
licketySplitAUS
Might need to reload Clues page
2:41 am
Jacula
Thank you, Lickety.x
2:42 am
licketySplitAUS
No, Babble Expert is so old, it runs an old browser and can't really deal with the new self serve page - so have to open it in a real browser.
2:42 am
Jacula
I get what you're saying re that Lickety.
2:43 am
licketySplitAUS
But Jacula, it wouldn't be hard to recreate all of Babble, the only tricky thing is getting a good word list and dealing with any support issues etc - plus if you want to store anything - that'll take some storage cost.
2:44 am
Jacula
I know! It would need a new payment list for players.
2:46 am
Jacula
My son certainly wouldn't create it for free. He'd probably run BETA for dedicated members as the original site did, but.. well, you know.
2:50 am
Jacula
What I'm wondering now is what is the best dictionary to attach? Oxford or Cambridge or some other? I know my son would want to use one or the other.
2:56 am
Jacula
Also. is the orginial dictionary including all the misspelled words still needed now?Maybe, since so many spelling errors occur on the internet now, plus young people think thjat word like 'Emosh' (emotionsl' etc., are okay to say now.
3:14 am
Jacula
I think £20 - £25 would cover the cost for long-term members no. Dunno if my son would agree. It's funny really since before he was born or even a twinkle in his father's eye, I worked for a computer company an wrote one of the first 'Idiot's Guides to computing' when we had to use old computer language and there was no quick button for 'save all work' from a department at the end oft he day. But these days he rembemers that and rebukes me for 'not keeping up'.
3:19 am
Jacula
In my eyes these days AI is the enemy. It can be briliant for medical and scientific purposes, but when it spouts crap on internet ads and so-called new sites, not so much o.
3:26 am
Jacula
Anyone who writes for a living, like I once did, espeacilly if writing short stories for womags like I did, has pretty much given up since many are now stealing from our words to produce AI stories in house, so they don't have to pay rea humanl writers to produce real stories for them now.
3:26 am
rururocks
What are womags?
3:27 am
Jacula
Sorry for the typos. I'm very tired and peedoff right now.
3:28 am
licketySplitAUS
fair enough. I'm trying to learn and grow with the times. Plus ways to not have to have my PC on everyday to push clues. 20 years my computer has been running every day.
3:28 am
Jacula

curious - do you say the se5.18 in your head like the underground tunnel, or like the person who makes clothes?

I say it like the underground tunnel. Sewist for the person, even though it isn't accepted much outside sewing circles.

only marginally. they are teeny tiny sequins, so when cut, become glitter. I found them in the upstairs bathroom!!!
